How to stay happy and healthy during the holidays.

The Holidays used to be extremely stressful for me. I would obsess about the food, my family and keeping my fitness routine on course through it all. I’m going to be honest, just because we stay on track burning our calories and earning our Thanksgiving dinner doesn’t necessarily mean we are being healthy! The mind is just as important to take care of as the body and obsessing about calories burned and what we are eating can take away from the joy of the holidays. I had (LATE) postpartum depression.

I had postpartum depression and it didn’t look like what I thought it would. As a new mom with twin girls who are now one years old,  I will tell you nothing can prepare you for those first four months with your first child. I’m struggling with getting my pre-baby body back.

Two months ago I gave birth to twin girls and I am struggling with the expectations of getting my pre-baby body back. Even more so, I am struggling that this is even a thing. It infuriates me to see magazine headlines like,“Celebrity drops 30 lbs three weeks after having baby”, or “How Supermodel gets her pre-baby body back”. These are ridiculous and unrealistic expectations for the rest of us living in the REAL WORLD. Why are magazines promoting this?
